The information I have so far is:

Martin Luther Dutcher (b. 1925, Middleport, NY) - my dad
Luther Valentine Dutcher (b. 1892, m.1920, d.1942) - grandfather
Brainard M. Dutcher (b. 1859, d. 1935, Lyndonville, NY) - great grandfather
Luther V. Dutcher (b. 1826, d. 1885) - great great grandfather

If anyone has more information that goes further back I would appreciate it.

Luther was evidently born in Orleans county, NY. Luther is in Yates township there and you can probably narrow down who is father is from the others around in 1830. (Stephen looks like a possibility.)

Thanks so much for the information - it does in fact look as if Shephen was Luther V.'s father. It looks like I can trace back even further thanks to
resposnes from Fran and Ruth Owen. I've been wanting to know this for 20 years and look forward to sharing it with the rest of my family.
