I have been researching the Crego family. My ancestor Stephen Crego (d. 1760) of Dutchess County married Margaret Dutcher, dau. of Ruloff Dutcher and Janet Bresie.
One of Stephen and Margaret Crego's grandsons, Abraham Crego, served in the Revolutionary War and is listed in a Vermont muster roll for Aug. 1-4, 1781 (John E. Goodrich, Vermont Revolutionary War Rolls, 1912). The name immediately above Abraham Crego is JOHN DUTCHER. Does anyone know who this John Dutcher was and how he may be related to Abraham Crego. From researching other names, I believe this company was raised from the area around Bennington, VT, and Hoosick and Cambridge, NY.
Any help will be appreciated.

There are already several books published detailing the many descendants of Stephen Crego and Margaret Dutcher.
The Crego Family of Baldwinsville, NY, by Paul Crego (1987).
I published The Selective History of the Crego Family (1993). See reviews in NYG&B Record, Vol. 124, No. 3 [July 1993] and TAG, Vol. 70, No.1 [Jan. 1995].
Settlers of the Beekman Patent, Vol . 3, (1997) by Frank Doherty, also contains a chapter on the family.
