Is it possible your birth date for Levi has a typo? If so, I may be able to help.

1. Barend DUTCHER (born 5.16.1733 Poughkeepsie) married 10.23.1756 Lower Rhinebeck, NY to Altje HEGEMAN. They had seven children, all born in Poughkeepsie:

2.5 Hendrickus (b. 12.21.1777)

Barend was the son of David De DUYTSER (1679-1773) and Elizabeth DAVENPORT. Altje was the daughter of Isaac HEGEMAN (?-?) and Neeltje De GRAAV (?-?).

Levi (6.2.1782) is my 2C6R, FWIW. The fact that the day and month and three of the four digits for the year match makes me suspicious that they are one and the same. My information about this Levi is from the Griffin article, and should be pretty reliable - I haven't found many substantiated errors. Griffin doesn't list death or marriage or offspring information for this branch, however.

That's my Levi!

Question: In your Dutcher files to you have any of these names: Thomas, Mourie, Sarah, Jane, Jerucia, Mahala, Julia? These are supposed to be children of Levi Dutcher/Elizabeth Hutchinson - names provided by an rather distant cousin.

The names provided by another cousin previous to the above were: Jeremiah, James, Elizabeth, Levi, Catherine, William & Mary or Eleanore. How on earth can I find out which ones really are the children of Levi/Elizabeth? Can you shed any light on this perplexing problem?
