Neil Dutcher
I am a novice at this as I just started getting interested in
genealogy. Maybe this is not the way to start, but I have been to
three different locations in Minnesota and have not got very far.
I am confident there is some information out there somewhere as
my great-grandfather had 10 children of which there is a
connection. The following is furnished....I will start with my
Great-Grandfather - He name is John Dutcher and was 62 in 1880
and was from New York. His wifes name is Anna, age 47 in 1880. I
do not know here maiden name, but she is listed as born in
England. The children are: (Ages are listed in Census year 1880
in Pepin, WI. Mary
Ann-26,William-24,John-22,Levi-19,George-17,Joseph-15,Frederick-12,Isabelle-10,Francis-7,Sarah-5,
I think there was a Charles who was the eldest who was 28. My
Grandfather (Frederick James Dutcher)married Julia Ricka Siefert
from Pepin,WI. They has seven boys - Clinton Elwin,Julian
Earl,Frederick Mitchell,Wilbur William,John Marvin, Adrian,Levi
Dock, and Charles Levi(Died at early age or at birth.)If anyone
has any information on any of these names I would be ever so
greatfull to hear from you...Thanking you in advance,

===========================
Hi, Neil,
A g-g-uncle of mine was a John Dutcher (a grandson of the Simeon
Dutcher I
referred to in a message yesterday about Dutchers in Herkimer
Co.). Not only
that, he was from Schodack NY, was born ca. 1818 according to
what little
information we have, and moved out west at some point. We know he
died in 1902
in Chicago, was in Chicago during the 1890s, working as a
stationer, but also
lived in Beloit, WI and Evansville IN (from a news clipping in
1887). We
haven't (I don't believe) found his wife's name, children, or
very much else
about him.
I have his siblings, and an almost complete ancestry on him back
to immigrants
in every direction. Let's see whether we have the same John
Dutcher! One thing
that might decide that right away is that the news clipping from
1887 I just
mentioned is an obit for Mrs. John Dutcher from Evansville IN.
