Jefferson Co, Watertown is as far back as I go which is not
very far.
Florence DUTCHER was my g.grandmther who married Otis WEBB and
they moved to Alameda Co., CA. Edward and Florence divored in the
early 1900's. I have a photo of Florence and would enjoy and
truly seek some connection with the DUTCHER family.

I am researching my husbands Dutcher line. By sending to Social
Security I have come up with the following info:
Jay H. Dutcher b. 1853 d. 1914 m. Emmaline (Emeline) Franklin in
1886. b. 1860 d.1943.
(Jays mother may have been Elizabeth. Emma is his second wife.
First wife was Lizzie Owen from Wales)
2 daughters Vera and Hazel
Hazel Alvina b. 8-16-1890 d. 12-1970 m. Henry William Lassen (he
was born in Germany and I have some info on his family too)
Their daughter Pauline Lassen MacNeill was my husbands mother.
She died in Oct of 1973.
This family is from the Livermore area of California...I have a
little info on these people and their families but am always
looking for more. I am curiousas to when or if Jay's family came
over from Germany.
Thanks in advance for any help.

This is the info I have....found some more yesterday!!
This is in Livermore, Ca.
We went to the cemetary yesterday and found the Dutcher plot. No
new information there but at a seperate cemetary looking at
Lassens we found
another Dutcher plot which my father-in-law says are more
relatives! I wil try to make this coherent...
Jay H. DUTCHER b. 1853 d. 1914 m. (1st) Elizabeth OWEN d.
1-31-1886 at 29yrs
8mos 26days. "Lizzie" was from Wales.
I have found a descendant of Lizzies brother on line and can get
their info.
m (2nd..our descendant) Emeline "Muzzie" FRANKLIN b.
1860 d. 1943.
Also in this plot was a man by the name of Mark M. Sanderson b.
1873-d. 1923.
We have no idea who he was.
This is our descendant:
Dau. Hazel Alvina DUTCHER b. 8-16-1890 d. 12-1970 m. William
Henry LASSEN b. 4-11-1886 d. 5-1968 (in the LASSEN plot)
Dau. Vera DUTCHER b. 1888 d. 1973 m. Charles E. CRANE b.
11-13-1890 d.3-30-1955 (CPL CoC 115 Ammunition TN WWI)
Charles is buried in the DUTCHER plot...Vera is in the other
cemetary off by herself!
The "other" DUTCHER plot exactly as it appeared:
Betsy 1825-1902 Rose Lowe 1836-1918
NORRIS D. DUTCHER
Sr. 1850-1933 Mary 1855-1930
Jr. 1887-1946 Agnes 1888-1980
III 1916-1996
Father-in-law says Norris was Jay's brother. We are pretty
certain that "Betsy" was their mother. He also said
that they were from Pennsylvania! A few
days ago my Genealogy folder was deleted accidentally...so I have
lost the messages I recieved from the mailing list. I will go
find those in the
archives. But I would appreciate an e-mail if anybody recognizes
these names. I dont know when they left Penn. and came to Ca. I
have located a few Social
Security #'s which will help I hope! FIL also said "Anne
DUTCHER" is a 2nd cousin..??? He likes to dole out the info
a little at a time.
So far this has been the easiest family to research..I have a
feeling it may get more complicated from here...Thanks in advance
for any help!

There is a Norris Dutcher who is 2 months old on the 1850
census. His mother is Elizabeth, which is usually the name for
which "Betsy" is the
nickname. They are in Jefferson county, NY. Here is the info I
have:
NY, Jefferson Co., Watertown, p. 335
Hiram Dutcher, 25, M, Farmer. NY
Elizabeth, 25, F
Florence, 1
Norris, 2/12
In 1860 there is a Hiram in the same place. I don't have his
family info.

Thank you very much for that info! It ties in with what
another Dutcher
correspondent and I are researching. I sent him this info. In his
e-mail he
says that in the 1870 census Elizabeth was 45 and the Betsy on
the marker was
born in 1825 so we have the same person. He also has Jay Dutchers
obituary
which says he was born in Watertown so we know they were still
there in 1853.
